1. Who we are
ParlanceKit is a product of Parlance Atelier, a company incorporated in Georgia, United States. We build AI-powered localization tools for developers. Our registered contact email is privacy@parlanceatelier.com.
2. What data we collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:
- Account data — name, email address, and authentication credentials managed by Clerk.
- Usage metadata — string counts, file formats, target languages, and timestamps.
- Localization content — the strings you submit for translation. We retain this only in the limited, time-bound ways described in Data retention below.
- Billing data — payment information is handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID.
- API keys — stored as irreversible hashes. The raw key is never stored after initial generation.
3. How your localization content is handled
Your strings are sent to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) for translation and are processed under their respective privacy policies. We do not use your content to train models, and we do not sell it or share it beyond what is required to perform the translation.
We retain localization content only in two limited forms, both described in Data retention below: a single snapshot of your source strings, used to detect what has changed since your last run, and a short-lived copy of a recent translation so a failed download can be recovered.
When you use repository sync, your translated files are written directly to your own repository as a pull request. That translated output is not stored on our servers.
4. How we use your data
- To provide and operate the ParlanceKit service
- To translate only what has changed since your last run, and to let you recover a recent translation
- To enforce usage limits and calculate billing
- To send transactional emails (invite notifications, billing receipts)
- To monitor service health and prevent abuse
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
5. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate ParlanceKit:
- Clerk — authentication and user management
- Stripe — payment processing
- Supabase — database and infrastructure
- Railway — application hosting. Localization content passes through our application servers during translation.
- GitHub — if you connect a repository, we read your source files and open pull requests on your behalf using an installation you authorize and can revoke at any time.
- Resend — transactional email
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Google — AI translation providers. Your strings are processed under their respective privacy policies.
- Sentry — error monitoring
6. Data retention
- Source snapshots — when you use repository sync or incremental updates, we keep a single snapshot of your source strings for each file so we can detect what changed on your next run. It is overwritten on every run, never accumulated into a history, and deleted automatically when you remove the repository, the configuration, or your account.
- Translation results — when you translate a file in the dashboard, we retain a copy of the submitted file and its translated output for 24 hours so that a failed or interrupted download can be recovered. These records are deleted automatically once that period elapses.
- Translated output from repository syncs — not retained. Written directly to your repository as a pull request.
- Usage metadata — retained for 24 months for billing and analytics purposes.
- Account data — retained until account deletion, then purged within 30 days.
- Billing data — retained by Stripe per their data retention policy.
Deleting your account removes your source snapshots and any retained translation results along with it.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
